About Aster

There has never been more to learn from — and never been a worse way to learn it. Every field now lives across a dozen platforms and channels, and no one can keep up with all of them. So most of us end up learning through middlemen: summaries, reposts, hot takes — information that arrives late, warped, and second-hand.

I think that's backwards. The better way is to stay close to first-hand, high-quality sources — the researchers, builders and writers who actually do the work. But attention is finite: not every source deserves it, and not everything a good source posts deserves it either. Choosing whom to hear from, deliberately, is the whole game.

Aster is my attempt at a tool for exactly that: one quiet shelf of the people you've chosen, across every platform, showing who just published — and nothing else. No feed, no ranking, no unread counts.

Its core value is information equality — a great follow-list shouldn't be a privilege. That's what the upcoming Cosmos is for: shelves that can be shared and copied by anyone, while staying private if you prefer.
